Welcome Centre

This beautiful facility was completed in 2012, and includes amenities important to marine visitors, such as registration desk, washrooms, showers, laundry, free Wi-Fi, fireside lounge with a large TV screen, Oyster Bay Cafe, meeting room, and a Social Dock for hosting group functions like boater “rendezvous”.

The Welcome Centre is completely wheel chair accessible, including an elevator to the second floor meeting room.

Purpose of the Welcome Centre

  • Welcome the community to their waterfront
  • Promote and preserve the Harbour heritage
  • Develop marina infrastructure to attract large-scale marine tourism to the coastal region, and advance the profile of eastern Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands as a destination of choice for visiting recreational boaters
  • A sewage pump-out is located near the outer edge of the marina for all users of the Harbour. This station will improve the environmental health of the Harbour, which is an historically significant food source for the Stz’uminus First Nation, and an important site for the local shellfish industry.
  • LMS is committed to environmental responsibility and in June 2015 received full “3 anchor” certification by Clean Marine BC.
